Role Summary:

The Project Manager is a key role for the project team at Nucleus. This team consists of a group of experienced Senior Consultants and Consultants. The Project Team is responsible for technology assessments, implementing new technology, and/or upgrading prospective and existing client information systems. The Manager of Professional Services is responsible for developing and managing all projects for clients by managing the resources, time, and scope. The primary duties include creating and maintaining project plans, coordinating resources, and communicating with clients in-person and via email/phone.

Overall Responsibilities, General Tasks and Duties:

  • Provide weekly project reporting to the executive team
  • Chair client facing and internal meetings on a regular basis
  • Develop project plans, goals, and budgets: identify resources needed, develop schedules and measure results
  • Understand overall project objectives, as well as the role and function of each project team member and ensure the project objectives and requirements are clear and agreed upon by all team members
  • Coordinate delivery and installation of technology that meet quality assurance standards
  • Organize and manage all phases of the project to ensure on-time completion with budgetary requirements
  • Act as the escalation point for project issues and drive problem investigation and resolution as required
  • Ensuring that risks are identified, communicated, and mitigated and that projects are delivered successfully through to production
  • Design and maintain technical and project documentation
  • Improve client perception and satisfaction
  • Triage project issues with appropriate internal and external resources
  • Communicate to clients: keeping them informed of progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages, etc.
  • Business awareness: specific knowledge of the customer and how IT relates to their business strategy and goals


  • Industry IT Certifications: Microsoft MCP, MCSA, MCSE, or MCITP
  • ITIL knowledge/experience would be considered an asset working for an MSP company preferred or relevant work experience
  • Previous IT support and IT project experience mandatory
  • Management and coaching experience; previous experience managing a team of professionals
  • Knowledge and experience in cross-functional project management methods and techniques
  • Knowledge of IT applications, processes, software and equipment
  • Strong organizational, presentation, and client service skills
  • Skill in planning and preparing written communications
  • Interpersonal skills: communication skills, active listening and client-care
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly
  • Service awareness of all organization’s key IT services for which support is being provided
  • Understanding of support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to provide IT services
  • Attention to detail for accurate entry of project details
